Day 1. Arrival (NRT/HND)
Airport assistant will be at the exit gate with a placard of your group name and safely direct them for their transfer to hotel.

Day 2. Tokyo City tour
Start the tour at Tokyo Rinkai Disaster Prevention Park and experience interactive disaster preparedness experiences, including earthquake simulators and emergency response training.

Depending on schedule of visit, get a chance to observe the annual Tokyo Comprehensive Disaster Drill in Minato City, designed to enhance public awareness and preparedness for natural disasters. Expect to experience hands-on training, simulations, and demonstrations by emergency services, allowing participants to learn essential survival skills and experience coordinated disaster response efforts.

Visit the country’s Embassy in Japan (by schedule and need an approved visit from said Embassy, can be skipped if not possible). Followed by a visit to the Minato City Hall.

End the tour at the Earthquake Research Institue in University of Tokyo. Here, get some insights on seismic research and Japan’s advanced disaster mitigation technologies.

Day 3. Sendai Tour
Travel to Sendai by bullet train (approx 1.5 hrs).

Upon arrival at the station, proceed to Sendai Arahama Elementary School. This school became a powerful reminder of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami. To date, it serves as a memorial and educational facility, showcasing the resilience of the community and the importance of disaster preparedness.

Lastly, visit the International Research Institute of Disaster Science (IRIDeS) at Tohoku University. This research institute is dedicated to advancing research and technology in disaster risk reduction and recovery.

After the tour, travel back to Tokyo via bullet train then private transfer to hotel.

Day 4. Mt. Fuji Sabo then Nagoya transfer
Early check-out from Tokyo hotel then travel to Fujinomiya City and see the majestic Mt. Fuji along the way to visit the Mt. Fuji Sabo Office. Learn about the region’s unique geological challenges and Japan’s advanced techniques in disaster prevention and environmental preservation.

After the visit, travel to Nagoya then hotel check-in. (approx 3hrs travel)

Day 5. Nagoya City Tour
Start the tour at the Nagoya Bay and Port Disaster Prevention Center and get first-hand experience on emergency response coordination, disaster simulations, and public education on maritime safety and disaster mitigation.

Spend the afternoon at the Disaster Mitigation Research Center (DMRC) at Nagoya University. Here, learn innovative approaches to disaster risk reduction and management done, including earthquake resilience, urban planning, and community preparedness.

Day 6. Osaka City Tour
Early check-out from Nagoya and visit the Division of Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering at Osaka University and have some insights on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable urban infrastructure.

Next, experience realistic simulations of fire, rescue, and disaster scenarios at Osaka Fire Department’s Fire Training Center.

Spent the rest of the day for some free time shopping at Dotonbori.

Day 7. Kobe City Tour
Visit Asian Disaster Reduction Center (ADRC) in Kobe, a key organization focused on promoting disaster resilience and risk reduction across Asia and the Pacific.

Next stop is at the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake Memorial & Disaster Reduction and Human Renovation Institution (DRI). The institution showcases immersive exhibits, survivor testimonies, and earthquake simulations.

Spend the rest of the day at Kobe Harborland to relax by the water and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. Do a little shopping before going back to Osaka.
